Homecoming - Derigging Welsh Engineering

The Welsh would be ashamed to be associated with Welsh Engineering. After swinging off from the top of Radagast there are a some steep down climbs that are not fun back up with big bags, some handlines would greatly improve these. The pitches have mostly been bolted to put you directly in line with the water, despite going on a dry day we both got very wet. Skinny cord through a sharp drilled thread is not substitute for a bolt and hanger, making for a thought provoking traverse to one of the pitch heads. On the way back up, multiple pitches had extremely severe rope rub, with the ropes sliding back and forth across sharp edges whilst prussiking. It gave a difficult balancing act of prussiking carefully to avoid rope rub and prussiking fast to avoid a complete soaking. Moral of the story, don't let new expoers bolt without supervision.
