Scalebar and North Arrow symbols not rendering
From Fs_wiki
The North Arrow and Scalebar symbols no longer render on sketches. I have to roll back the source to circa March 2006 to get these symbols to render on sketches which use them. I see that the Inlet7 sketches feature a hand drawn North arrow on the sketch. Is this the prefered way to do this now? If so then why are the North Arrow symbols still offered on buttons in the sketch window?
I know that the scalebar symbol is depreciated, and replaced with the newer feature using rectangles rendered from text, as covered in the Tutorial documentation on this site.

- These symbols exist only for certain subsets, usually the basevisiblegrid type nonsense. They're not available in the default subset. I don't know what's right for North arrows. Ideally it should all get combined with some kind of Located map object which makes the map location computer accessible, but which gets renderd as some kind of attractive north arrow. It's that I could install further commands into the text-box that extends to North Arrow designs, beyond what can be done for scalebars.Goatchurch 19:29, 27 February 2007 (GMT)
This was user error on my part. I now understand that you need to add the connective lines for these symbols into the correct subset (basevisiblegrid) in order for them to render. North arrows are still eluding me, but I drew my own using detail lines instead. Moved to fixed issues page. --Footleg 11:13, 29 March 2007 (BST)
