Nicky Davies (Kings, 1977-80, Committee 1977-80) showed great promise on her first novice meet by following the leader into the most squalidly muddy bit of Merlins and emerged more cheerful than anyone else. She happily bottomed Penyghent on New Years' Eve (her tenth trip) and a few days later was handed a tackle bag with 300' of stiff 11mm rope which she carried through the abominable approach to Vulcan Pot in Nick Pot without a squeak. She is now a leading fell runner (although already a "veteran"!).

Expeditions 1978 and 1983, the former as part of "Team Youth/ladders" exploring Gemsehöhle (1623/107).
